History
Digame en español is the vision of Peggy Mayhall-Brown. After 34 years as a Spanish teacher and guidance counselor, she recognized the void that homeschool students and their parents faced in obtaining their required Carnegie Units in foreign language for high school graduation. She holds a BA from the University of South Alabama and a MS in Psychology from the University of Central
Arkansas.
With the realization that interaction is integral to learning any foreign language, she developed
Digame en español to pick-up where other programs fail with only static learning.
Our Vision
The vision of the "Dígame en español - Tell me in Spanish" Program is to enable students to learn to read, speak, and write in Spanish.
Qualifications
Peggy Mayhall Brown -- CEO MidSouth Tutoring Services -- Designer of the "Dígame en español" Program
Primary qualification: Teacher Certification in Spanish (k-12) and Guidance Counseling in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas
* B.S. in Spanish, and a M.S. in Psychology
* 34yrs. Teaching Elementary, Secondary, and Undergraduate Spanish classes which includes 8 yrs.as an Elementary and High School Guidance Counselor.
* 2 yrs. Trilingual Hostess at Disney World.
Hosted and was the translator for student groups to Colombia, Mexico and Spain. Won 1st place for Drama in State Spanish Competition 2yrs. consecutively.

BELIEFS
1. All students have the ability to learn.
2. Learning must be a cooperative endeavor that requires an effort on the part of the student. The student must be responsible and accountable for his/her assignments.
3. Learning a second language requires:
* Active Listening
* Active Participation
* Pronunciation of words and phrases
* Repetition of oral responses
* Thoughtful written responses
4. Students will learn best with a mindset that accepts the culture and the customs of the various peoples in the Spanish-speaking world.
